![]() Have you ever said "I just want to be happy"? Well, if you want to be happy, FIND WISDOM and GET UNDERSTANDING. "Happy is the man that findeth wisdom and the man that getteth understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her. Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour. Her ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her." Proverbs 3:13-18 How do you get wisdom and understanding? You ask God for it. It is the Lord that "giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding." Proverbs 2:6 We spend too much time asking God for the wrong thing. We ask for money. We get money and lose it because we don't know how to manage it. We ask for health. We get better but then get sick because we don't know how to take care of ourselves. We ask for a job. We get the job but start complaining. We lose, quit or get fired from the job. We ask to restore relationships. Relationship gets restored but we mess it up again. We ask for a house. We get the house but can't maintain it. We need to take a page from Solomon's book. Solomon was about to embark on his journey of being King when God came to Solomon in a dream and said "Ask what shall I give thee". (1 Kings 3:5) Now Solomon could have asked for many things, but he humbled himself and said I don't know what I'm doing with this life you have given me. (Of course I'm paraphrasing that part) So this is what he said (1 Kings 3:9-14): Solomon: "Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?" And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing. God: Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment; Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee. And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days. And if thou wilt walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as thy father David did walk, then I will lengthen thy days." Getting wisdom and understanding from God will surpass anything you can ask for! You won't just be getting something but you learn how to get it, keep it and maintain it! Wisdom is for people who can see past their immediate wants to fulfill their long term needs and desires. You want to be happy in life...FIND WISDOM AND GET UNDERSTANDING.

favorite quotes!“Love is that condition in the human spirit so profound that it allows me to survive, and better than that, to thrive with passion, compassion, and style.” Maya Angelou "Like an unchecked cancer, hate corrodes the personality and eats away its vital unity. Hate destroys a man's sense of values and his objectivity. It causes him to describe the beautiful as ugly and the ugly as beautiful, and to confuse the true with the false and the false with the true." |
